About the VPG
Benefits of being a member of the VAT Practitioners Group (VPG).
You will be entitled and encouraged to attend regular meetings at which you have the opportunity to discuss various technical issues with other members. This gives you an opportunity to get a different view that could help with understanding how a particular piece of the VAT legislation works. These meetings also give you an opportunity to learn of local exercises being undertaken by HMRC, and other issues that may be important to you in your work.
The VPG Annual Conference. An opportunity to hear leading figures in the VAT world talk about a wide range of topics on VAT issues. The cost of attending the VPG conference is substantially less than attending a one day conference provided by a commercial training organisation. Indeed, the cost of attending the conference and your subscription is likely to be less than attending any one day VAT conference, and you get to attend the invaluable local meetings.
The monthly meetings and the Annual Conference all count towards your structured CPD.
The VPG Bulletin, published ten times a year, to provide you with details of cases on VAT and other items of VAT news. It also contains details of the activities of the VPG in making submissions to HMRC and other Government departments on issues that affect VAT advisers and their clients.
The VAT web site. News items are posted to the website as they are received by the VPG, giving you a way of keeping up to date with the latest happenings in VAT.
You have the opportunity to make contributions to VPG submissions to HMRC consultations.
